Security officer pepper-sprayed by fleeing felony suspect, Crime Stoppers cash offered for information

Detectives in Franklin are hoping someone might recognize a pair of aggressive, repeat theft and credit card fraud suspects. One of them pepper-sprayed store security during a getaway.

Both incidents happened at Academy Sports in Cool Springs. In one of those cases, they left in a dark-colored Chevy Malibu. In the other, they fled in a silver Kia Optima with a TSU logo on the front of the vehicle.

There is a cash reward if you know who they are.

Austin Cornett, pharmacy burglary suspect, in custody

On May 24, Franklin Police asked for the public’s help to identify the burglar in this May 18 Walgreens video, where the suspect hid inside the Murfreesboro Road store until after it closed, and then tunneled into the pharmacy through the drywall, stealing a large quantity of opioid pain killers.

Citizen tips led to the identification of the suspect as Austin Cornett. After Franklin Detectives developed information that he may be hiding out in East Tennessee, they worked with police and media there to offer a reward for information leading to Cornett’s capture.

On Monday night, Franklin Police received a tip that Cornett was hiding out in a Jacksboro home. Franklin Detectives quickly coordinated with Campbell County Deputies who arrested Cornett at that home a short time later.

Franklin Police transported Cornett from Campbell County to Williamson County today, to face his burglary charge for the May break-in at Walgreens.

Franklin Police commend the engaged citizens who came forward with information in this case that led to Cornett’s identification and capture.

Cornett may be hiding out in the Campbell County, Tennessee area. A cash reward is being offered to anyone who can help Franklin Detectives track him down.

Pharmacy burglar wanted by Franklin Police

Franklin Police and Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward to anyone who helps identify this pharmacy burglar.

On May 18, he hid inside the Murfreesboro Road Walgreens until after the store closed and employees had left. Once everyone was gone, the burglar tunneled into the pharmacy through the drywall and stole a large quantity of opioid pain killers.

Help the FPD identify these thieves

Police in Franklin are hoping someone might recognize these thieves. On January 14 they stole a cart full of groceries and three flat screen televisions from the Franklin Walmart. The two left in a green Honda Element. There’s a cash reward for information, so call Crime Stoppers if you recognize them.

Felony Evading suspect in custody thanks to citizen tips

UPDATE: Last week, Franklin Police asked for the public’s help to identify two Felony Evading suspects who eluded police in a white Toyota Tacoma on November 18, in Cool Springs.

Tips poured in and 23-year-old Jordan Gerber, of Shelbyville, is now behind bars in Bedford County, awaiting forthcoming charges in Franklin. The male in the photo has also been identified. Franklin Police want to thank the many engaged citizens who called in to share information on this case.

Citizen tips land Franklin porch pirate behind bars

Nashville, Tennessee

Franklin Police published this video on September 3, asking for the public’s help with identifying a package thief caught on camera. The Department received numerous tips that helped detectives develop Rafael Jimenez, Jr. as the suspect. Police have been looking for him ever since.

A break in the case came after a CrimeStoppers tip led police to a location where he was staying, yesterday in Nashville. Jimenez was arrested without incident and booked into the Williamson County Jail.

In addition to being wanted by Franklin Police, Jimenez is also wanted by Sumner, Maury, and Davidson Counties on multiple, unrelated charges.

Charged with x2 counts of Theft, x2 counts of Criminal Trespass, x2 counts of Failure to Appear on Previous Charges, and x2 Counts of Violation of Probation, Jimenez is being held in Franklin on a $34,000 bond.

Franklin Police credit Ring doorbell footage, good detective work, and engaged citizens with closing this case.

Crime Stoppers cash offered for ID of skid-steer thief

Franklin Police want to identify this thief. On February 6, he rented a $36,000 skid-steer from Sunbelt Rentals of Franklin. The company later learned that all of the information the suspect provided was false. He was last seen driving a black Dodge Ram pickup.
