Dickens Cop photo contest to honor beloved, gone but not forgotten Franklin Police Sergeant

Retired Franklin Police Sergeant, Paul Arnold

The family of retired Franklin Police Sergeant Paul Arnold wants to honor his memory by combining his passion for fitness and fond memory of being the original Bobby at Franklin’s Dickens of a Christmas.

This weekend, the Department is hosting a Twitter photo contest to remember Sergeant Arnold. The winner will receive a new bicycle from his family. All you have to do is find this year’s FPD Bobbies at Dickens of a Christmas, then:

  1. If you aren’t already: follow FranklinTNPD on Twitter.

  2. Take your picture of or with a Franklin PD Bobby.

  3. Mention @FranklinTNPD in your post and include the hashtag #DickensCop.

Everyone who posts their Bobby pictures this way on Twitter will be entered into a drawing to win a new bicycle, courtesy of Sergeant Arnold’s family. The family plans to purchase and give additional bikes to needy Franklin children.

A family spokesperson said, “Paul loved Franklin, and he loved being the original Bobby at Dickens. Our family wanted to honor Paul by incorporating his love for the festival, and to share the gift of fitness that bicycles can bring because Paul loved the outdoors and staying physically fit, especially on a bike.”

Entries must be submitted by noon, Monday, December 16.
