Franklin Police are investigating several overnight auto burglaries in the Fieldstone Farms neighborhood. Ten unlocked cars were entered, overnight, in areas along Citation Drive. Valuables stolen include a laptop computer, wallets, and cash. Area residents are asked to check their home surveillance systems for anything that might help identify the suspects.
Auto burglars often target areas like parks, gyms, daycares, and neighborhoods. Criminals know that cars parked in these areas are likely to contain valuables like purses and laptop computers. Suspects slip into unlocked vehicles, quietly in search of valuables inside. Suspects typically break out windows of locked vehicles to steal a purse or other item that they can clearly see from outside the car.
Franklin Police have increased patrols in unmarked cars in an effort to catch criminals in the act.
