A serial shoplifter is behind bars thanks to a citizen tip. On May 9 and again on May 11, Franklin Police put out a press release asking for the public’s help to identify a serial shoplifter wanted for stealing Beats headphones, and other electronics, from the Cool Springs Target and Galleria Apple Store. A tip recently led to officers identifying the suspect as 35-year-old Printic Newsome.

Newsome, a convicted felon, is being held in the Williamson County jail on a $9,500 bond. Charged with Theft, Felony Theft, and Failure to Appear, Newsome is due in court on 08/25/2018 at 1:00 pm.

Posting surveillance photos of unidentified suspects, like this, is incredibly helpful with getting suspects identified and into custody. The Department is grateful to the news media who helps us to spread the word, and to engaged citizens who are willing to call in and share information that helps keep Franklin safe.
