A suspect who assaulted a Franklin Police Officer and kicked out a squad car window remains jailed after his arrest, Wednesday.
On January 17, officers were summoned to a home on Oak Meadow Drive for a disturbance. When the investigating officer told 35-year-old Cody Barnes that he was under arrest for Domestic Assault, Barnes resisted and then assaulted the officer, kicking him during the arrest. While secured in the back seat of a Franklin Police car, Barnes kicked out a window as the officer was driving him to jail.
Barnes, charged with Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest, Assaulting a Police Officer, Vandalism, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, remains jailed on the $12,000 bond set by the Magistrate. Barnes faces a Judge on January 25 at 1:00 pm.
