At 3:30 Tuesday afternoon Franklin Police Officers were summoned to a Cool Springs restaurant where a man was creating a disturbance inside. Arriving officers encountered the suspect, David Brown, in the parking lot and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, Brown resisted officers, threatening to kill them. While officers were walking him to their car, Brown unexpectedly jumped onto the hood of a squad car and began spitting in officers’ faces. During a struggle to get Brown under control, an officer was injured and transported to the hospital. He was treated and later released.
Brown was charged with two counts of Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Driving on a Suspended License. He remains jailed on the $20,000 bond set by the Judge. Brown is due in court April 13 at 1:00 pm.
