At a special ceremony this afternoon at Police Headquarters, Franklin Police Chief Deborah Faulkner promoted Master Patrol Officer Matt Smalley to Sergeant, and Sergeant Tommy Justus to the rank of Lieutenant. “These public servants care about the Franklin community and their fellow officers,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “I am proud to promote them and to honor their hard work and dedication.”
Sergeant Smalley has been assigned to the Department’s Alpha Shift, which starts its tour of duty at 9:00pm. Smalley came to the Franklin Police Department from MTSU Police in 2004. Lieutenant Justus will be commanding the Charlie Shift, which begins its tour at 2:00 pm. Justus came from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, starting his career with the Franklin Police Department in 1998.
