The police incident in the Carriage Park neighborhood has ended peacefully. Shortly before 5:00 this morning, officers were summoned to a home in that subdivision to investigate the report of an emotionally distraught man. Residents who retreated from the home advised arriving officers that the man, also a resident of the home, was armed. After the subject inside refused to cooperate, FPD SWAT Officers and Crisis Negotiators were called to assist. In an abundance of caution, adjacent neighbors were evacuated from nearby homes and Carriage Park Drive was temporarily closed.

The incident was peacefully resolved shortly after 8:30 a.m. when the man surrendered. No one was injured during the incident. It has not been determined if the subject will be facing any charges. The Department is appreciative for the cooperation and understanding of area residents during this morning’s incident.
