Franklin Police have concluded that the 27-year-old man struck Wednesday afternoon, on S. Carothers, was ran over and then dragged by his own vehicle. It happened at 4:43pm, when the Franklin man got out to check under the hood after having car trouble. He failed to put the vehicle in park before he got out.
When the driver attempted to stop the unoccupied vehicle from rolling, he fell before being ran over and dragged, leaving him injured in the roadway as the unoccupied truck continued, crashing into a nearby construction project. Amazingly, the victim’s injuries were minor. The man was transported to the Williamson Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.
