A Franklin Police Officer was injured this afternoon, after a driver unexpectedly veered into her lane on East McEwen Dr. near Players Mill Road.

At 12:16pm, the officer was on her way to help two citizens who had been injured in a crash, nearby. As the officer was traveling eastbound on McEwen, westbound traffic had stopped, yielding to the officer’s lights and siren. Another westbound driver crested the hill, lost control of his vehicle, and swerved into the officer’s lane, colliding with her squad car.

The driver of the other vehicle is facing multiple charges from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating. The officer was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
