Today at 1pm, AT&T was conducting work that necessitated closure of the westbound lane of Murfreesboro Road, near the Yorktown Subdivision. They utilized a private security company to protect the work zone. A driver, leaving the Yorktown Subdivision, turned right onto Murfreesboro Road and collided with a passing trailer, forcing it into an AT&T worker. The collision knocked the worker under the AT&T truck, seriously injuring him. He was transported to the Trauma Center at Vanderbilt. The vehicles driven by the private security guards were not marked, and did not display any warning lights.
