At 9:30 this morning, officers were summoned to the 200 block of James Avenue for an attempted kidnapping. A man, described as an older white male in a grey Nissan Altima, stopped his vehicle in front of a house where a 9-year-old child was playing. He then made repeated attempts to lure the child into his vehicle. When a family friend saw what was happening, he came to the child’s aid and the suspect drove away.

Officers quickly located the vehicle and identified the suspect as Ted Beakley, who admitted to his actions. Beakley, charged with Attempted Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, has been booked into the Williamson County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Beakley is a person of interest in other incidents.
