A Franklin teen was transported to an area hospital after crashing his vehicle into the business, Lulu, at 345 Main Street.

At 1:23 this morning, an officer stopped the vehicle for driving erratically near North Petway and West Main. As the officer was approaching on foot, the driver took off. Less than a minute later, the driver crashed into the building at Main and Fourth. Paramedics transported the 15-year-old boy to an area hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not in pursuit of the suspect at the time of the crash.

Multiple charges will be filed this morning against the juvenile. The business, which was heavily damaged, will remain closed. City Engineers, however, have deemed the building structurally sound, and no other Main Street businesses were affected.
