A social media post made by a citizen, yesterday, suggesting that a stranger approached her child who was alone in a parked car has been determined to be false. Yesterday’s Facebook post prompted numerous calls to the Department by concerned residents, and the press. The post suggested that an unknown female tried to get the child to open the car door and go with her. Surveillance video clearly shows that no one approached the parked car the child was sitting in between the time the mother left and later returned to the vehicle.
