Franklin Police investigating overnight robbery of a woman in Cool Springs; $5,000 reward for information

4-10-2015 10-22-41 AMThursday night at 8:25, officers were summoned to the parking lot of the theater at 633 Frazier Drive. An employee of a neighboring business had gotten off of work and was getting into her car when she was accosted from behind. The male suspect got the victim’s arm behind her back, picked her up, slammed her to the ground, and put his boot on her head announcing the robbery. The victim suffered cuts and scrapes from the attack, but was not seriously injured.

After the robbery the suspect walked to a small, dark colored compact vehicle being driven by a second subject, got in, and fled the area.

This is the third Franklin robbery of a woman in two weeks. Police are working to determine whether or not this robbery is connected to two others that occurred on 04/09/2015. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of suspects connected to any of these robberies.

“We have intense investigations occurring on all three robberies,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “Teams are working around the clock, following every lead. The suspects in these cases are dangerous, and we are doing everything possible to take them down.”

Police encourage women not to walk to their cars alone in isolated areas or after dark, as suspects are less likely to attack groups of two or more, or in busy settings.
