A convicted felon, out on parole, is back behind bars and drugs are off the street following a foot chase this afternoon.
At 12:30, a Franklin Police Flex Team Officer spotted the suspect leaving a public housing apartment on West Meade Boulevard. That suspect, Barry Harris, is on the Public Housing ban list. When officers approached Harris, he fled on foot and began throwing crack cocaine and marijuana to the ground. Officers quickly captured Harris and recovered his drugs.
Barry Harris is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $30,000 bond, charged with Drug Possession for Resale, Evading Arrest, Resisting Arrest, Simple Possession, and Trespassing. Harris is a convicted felon with a lengthy and violent criminal history that includes weapon and drug charges. Proceedings will now begin to revoke his parole and return him to prison.
God bless our wonderful diligent Franklin PD!!!!
