Franklin, TN – Two Franklin massage parlor employees are behind bars on prostitution, and other charges, after Franklin Police executed search warrants at a Franklin business and home.
Shortly after 10 this morning, police raided the Golden Butterfly Spa, situated between a dry cleaner and dentist office, in the strip mall at 100 Cool Springs Boulevard. This, following an investigation into the location where illegal sex acts were being blatantly bought and sold.
A citizen complaint, reporting “shady practices” at the location, caused police to look closer. During a three-month investigation, detectives uncovered evidence that men were trading money for sex acts in the business, operating under the ruse of a legitimate spa.
A second search warrant was executed at the suspects’ residence, where additional evidence was collected. Investigators also seized a 2013 Mercedes SUV that was being used in furtherance of this criminal enterprise.
“Franklin is a special place,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “We are simply not going to allow these types of ruse businesses to operate here. We will continue making Franklin an extremely uncomfortable place for them, and their criminal clientele.”
Luwen Yuan, charged with Prostitution, Promoting Prostitution, and Massage or Exposure of Erogenous Areas is being held on a $6,000 bond. Ping Cao – her mother, charged with Promoting Prostitution, is being held on a $5,000 bond. Detectives strongly anticipate filing additional charges in connection with this investigation.
Metro Police and Homeland Security Investigations assisted in today’s operation.
