Franklin, TN – An auto burglary suspect, caught red-handed by police, remains behind bars this weekend. At 8:50 Wednesday night, a citizen flagged down an officer patrolling the downtown area and reported a suspicious man lurking in the Fourth Avenue parking garage. When the officer checked, he saw the suspect standing next to a parked car, wearing a glove. As the officer approached to question the suspect, he threw several items to the ground and ran – but didn’t get far. After a short foot-chase, Officer Tim Damm caught up to the suspect, and arrested him.

The suspect had burglarized at least two unlocked vehicles, stealing money, duffle bags, jewelry, and sunglasses. Officers immediately recovered most of the stolen property.

Adam Fekete, 18, of Franklin, remains jailed on a $20,500 bond. Charged with two counts of Auto Burglary and Resisting Arrest, Fekete is due in court 09/18/2014 at 1:00pm. Police credit the citizen who alerted the officer to Fekete’s suspicious behavior in the garage.

Investigators have determined that Fekete was the same suspect who fled after an auto burglary in that same garage on August 5. Additional charges against him are forthcoming.
